Norbert wins three-year distribution contract from Mazda
Norbert Dentressangle has received a new three-year distribution contract from Japanese car manufacturer Mazda Motors.
As per the contract, Norbert will provide distribution of automotive parts and accessories to the Japanese automaker's dealerships across the UK.
The European logistics provider will also makes collections from the automaker's parts distribution centre in Staplehurst, Kent, and delivers consignments to some 170 dealers per night through its national shared-user night network.
The logistics firm makes up to 3,200 deliveries including parcels, roll cages and large cartons every week in overnight deliveries.
Mazda parts and accessories sales manager David Elphick said the execution of the implementation process was very challenging in such a short timescale.
"With Norbert Dentressangle's automotive night network we can react quickly to orders of any size from our dealers," Elphick said.
"The parts are guaranteed to reach dealerships before 8:00am the next day, which in turn enables them to deliver a high level of service to their customers."
The automaker also uses Norbert's SHARP (shipment handling and reporting program) technology, which allows them and its dealers to track deliveries in transit.
