Norbert extends distribution contract with Daikin
Norbert Dentressangle has extended its UK warehousing and distribution contract for further three year with Daikin Europe and Daikin UK.
Based in Ostend, Belgium, Daikin Europe manufactures and supplies commercial and industrial air conditioning and heating products.
The logistics operator receives containerised product from Daikin's factories in Belgium, Czech Republic and the Far East and is responsible for the unloading and palletisation, storage, picking and distribution of products to customers throughout the UK and Ireland, mainly on a day one for day two basis.
The logistics provider is also responsible for the line-haulage operation from the Port of Felixstowe.
Norbert provides a range of value-added services that have been developed with the Daikin UK customers in mind, including pre-delivery customer calls, two-man deliveries, the provision and operation of heavy lifting equipment and removal and disposal of packaging.
It is also responsible for managing the delivery of aftermarket parts to both engineers and customers, primarily via parcel carrier and in addition value-added activities include the inspection and assessment of returns and the refurbishment of products.
Daikin UK supply chain manager Alison Jones said both the service and working relationships the company has enjoyed with Norbert Dentressangle have been first rate and it looks forward to working with them over the next three years to cement and build on its achievements to date.
"By working with Norbert Dentressangle at the new location in Aylesford, we have the opportunity to achieve a better logistical flow in our warehouse operations that provides us with all the resources we need to ensure maximum performance at the distribution stage," Jones said.
