Bidvest Logistics extends contract with Gondola
Bidvest Logistics has extended its contract for further three years with Gondola Group, a chain restaurant operator in the UK and Ireland.
As per the GBP86m contract, Bidvest will supply all dry, frozen and chilled products to the restaurant operator's nationwide restaurant chain.
The company said that the contract which followed a three-month tendering process involving several different foodservice suppliers, will be effective from July this year.
Gondola owns the Pizza Express, Byron, Zizzi and Ask restaurant chains, and has more than 600 restaurants with 16,500 employees.
Bidvest Logistics director of supply chain excellence Henry Godber said the company is delighted to have won this major account following a rigorous tendering process.
"The Gondola Group was looking for a supplier that could prove service excellence, outstanding pricing, dedication to customer service and a thorough understanding of their individual business requirements, and Bidvest Logistics clearly demonstrated each of these qualities," Godber said.
Gondola head of supply chain Andy Milner said the company is very happy to continue working with Bidvest Logistics for the next three years as it believes that their flexibility, quality of service offered and planned investments will only serve to enhance what is already an efficient and effective distribution supply chain for its restaurants.
