Alpha Industrial, B+S sign lease contract for 22,000ft² of logistics space in Germany

LBR Staff Writer Published 25 April 2016

Alpha Industrial has entered into a long-term lease contract with B+S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen for about 22,000ft² of logistics space in Bielefeld, Germany.

The deal also includes office space and mezzanine levels.

Last year, Alpha purchased the 24.3ha logistics park in Sennestadt along with an opportunistic fund managed by pan-European investment manager Tristan Capital Partners.

The modern logistics space, which is designed for secondary product processing, will be used for the storage, order picking and packaging of food.

Construction on the project is started in February. The handover of the first sub-area is slated for September, while the completion of the second building phase is scheduled for March next year.

The new deal will allow B+S to consolidate its various warehouses in Bielefeld and expand its existing capacity to a total of around 28,000ft² in this location.

Alpha said that it is building the new development based on criteria set by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB), which will certify the project.

B+S GmbH Logistik und Dienstleistungen managing director Stefan Brinkmann said: "By moving to the new premises we will be able to modernise and consolidate our complete logistics processes.

"The optimisation of building space at our existing location has many long-term economic benefits for us and our employees including the better use of energy resources."
